Moviment Graffitti files a human rights case against Police misconduct

16th March 2006. This morning five members from Moviment Graffitti started legal proceedings against the Police Commissioner for breaking their rights to freedom of expression while protesting against warships.

The event which Graffitti is taking action against took place on the 19th February 2006, when members of the organization were hindered by the police from carrying out a peaceful and symbolic activity against the presence of warships in Malta.

Jesuits regret that arsonists fail to understand what they stand for

13.03.06: IMC-Malta sent an email with our condolences to Fr. Joe Cassar in the light of the vandal attacks on Jesuit property which took place less than 24 hours before.

The Jesuit replied:

Portrait Petition Against Racism

'On the 21st of March it is International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. For this event, Amnesty International Malta Group (AIMG)shall be holding a public stance against racism by organizing a portraitpetition.

The idea is to get as many people's photos as possible with a statementaccompanying it.

SPINOLA GARDEN SHOULD REMAIN FOR PUBLIC USE

Moviment Graffitti said that while it is in favour of embellishment of the Spinola garden, it believes that the main aim of the project should be to safeguard the public interest and to ensure that the garden is accessible for everyone, and not to restrict accessibility in this public space.
