Speaking at a Press Conference held on site in Birzebbuga Alternattiva Demokratika The Green Party Chairperson Dr Harry Vassallo said that the extension of development boundaries was not only illegal and unnecessary but was also contradictory. "The extension proposed by government with no external prompting at l-Ghelieqi tal-Papa could in no way be described as closing a gap in development" Dr Vassallo said.

In its reaction to the decision by EU ministers regarding the Directive on Public Transport, Moviment Graffitti urged Malta's authorities, political parties, Members of the European Parliament and civil society to put pressure within the EU so that Malta can keep subsidizing public transport.

Moviment Graffitti insisted that public transport is a basic social service which should be accessible to everyone.

The pause given to immigrant parents and students will end on June 30. Thousands of children, adolescents and their families risk mass deportation. Their lives and their future will end. "The Malta to UK Invasion" - Dripht live in England

Rock band Dripht shall be playing live in England in a short-tour during July. Dripht shall be playing live together with other British bands in what is being dubbed "The Malta to UK Invasion" with British band Mr Happy Chainsaw and other bands including Anger is a Gift, None the Less and The Tragedy.

Dripht's schedule consists of four concerts at the renowned ‘The Garage' in London, at Witham Town Football Club, Kelvedon Institute and The Twist in Colchester.

An anti-racist action with participants from Moviment Graffitti, Indymedia, Integra Foundation, Malta Gay Rights Movement and Third World Group was held at the beginning of a right-wing march organized by ANR.

In a press release the opposing organizations said that they joined together to voice their concerns with regards to the dangers of xenophobia and racism.

'Sette Giugno' is the day which remarks the lives lost by Maltese people, in the struggle against British Colonialism, which was ruling Malta, after the second world war.

Moviment Graffitti, put a banner stating '1919 : Hakma Kolonjali, 2006: Hakma tal-ispekulatur' throughout the celebration of 'Sette Giugno', today, which occurs each year , at Valletta.

A group of 14 NGOs gathered in front of parliament to strengthen society's determination not to succumb to the scaremongering campaign being launched by the exponents of the populist right.
